To determine the flame behaviour of construction and insulation materials, a burner with a 20 mm flame is fed to the test specimen via a PC-controlled automatic feed and then retracted after the relevant flame time. An acoustic signal announces the end of the observation period. The computer-controlled test procedure with image capture serves to record the flame development with automatic evaluation and logging as well as database-supported documentation.

During the automatic evaluation, the test criteria such as maximum flame height and the achievement or not reaching of the measuring mark are recorded and the assessment is carried out in accordance with the classification standard EN 13501-1.
